by | Dec 4, 2019

We all know the importance of a healthy smile… but what about a smile that gives you absolute confidence?

At Hewett’s Dental, we are passionate about smile transformations. Our cosmetic experts transform smiles with state-of-the-art materials and techniques, with stunning results.

The majority of us would like to improve some aspect of the appearance of our smile, and many clients ask about the different treatment options available.

We’ve compiled a list of common smile complaints, followed by solutions we offer to transform your confidence.

‘I wish my teeth were whiter’

Wanting a whiter smile is a cosmetic enquiry we encounter almost daily; and with such easy and affordable solutions, it’s an easy smile transformation to uptake.

Over the years, with ‘wear and tear’, dietary habits and staining, the teeth naturally darken. Brightening your smile can reverse the appearance of ageing, and restore confidence in people suffering the effects of darkened teeth.

There are 2 ways to brighten your smile at Hewett’s Dental:

i. AirFlow Stain Removal

AirFlow stain removal is a state-of-the-art hygiene treatment that uses a mixture of air, jet-water and fine powder to gently and effectively blast away stubborn stains on your teeth, returning them to their natural whiteness.

Fee: £39.90

ii. Tooth Whitening

Professional whitening is the most common method of brightening smiles. Our lab technicians create our clients bespoke whitening trays. The whitening gel is applied to the trays and worn overnight, usually for around 2-weeks. The results are highly effective and long lasting.

‘I wish my teeth were straighter’

Clients often speak to us about wanting straighter teeth. Orthodontic treatment (teeth straightening) is no longer limited to younger generations, and is now up taken by clients of all age groups and genders. This is largely down to the discreet nature of modern teeth-straightening methods, which now allow treatment to go unnoticed.

We offer 2 different teeth straightening options at Hewett’s Dental:

i. Quick Straight Teeth

Quick Straight Teeth is a type of fixed orthodontic treatment (brackets and wires attached to your teeth). The brackets and wires are white, so blend discreetly with your smile. Clients attend every 4-6 weeks for adjustment appointments, aligning the teeth quickly and perfectly.

Fees: From £1950.00 (or from £48.99/month)

ii. Invisalign

Invisalign treatment straightens your smile using a series of clear (invisible) aligners. Your aligners are changed at home on a weekly or 2-weekly basis, allowing you to reduce the number of visits to the dentist usually associated with orthodontic treatment. Invisalign is the leading orthodontic appliance on the market, favoured by the masses for its quick, discreet treatment. Invisalign allows you to see your end result before you begin, allowing clients to make a more informed choice about their smile.

Fees: From £2395.00 (or from £60.17/month)

‘ I wish my smile was more even’

Teeth with gaps, chips, uneven edges or discolourations can greatly impact someone’s confidence. Many clients attend Hewett’s Dental wanting a whiter ‘more even’ smile.

We offer 3 solutions for this:

i. Composite Bonding (Composite Veneers)

Our cosmetic experts bond a white resin material to your tooth (composite), which can be shaped perfectly to form your new smile. Composite bonding has exploded in popularity in recent years, due to the minimal work needed and the beautiful results. Advantages of bonding include:

  • No pain
  • No drilling
  • No injection
  • Preserves the natural tooth
  • Affordable treatment
  • Done in one appointment
  • Smile transforming

Fees: £169.00/tooth or from £46.56/month (based on 6 upper teeth)

ii. Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers create a similar result to composite veneers, but are considered more durable. With a lifespan of 10-15 years, porcelain veneers are a great long-term solution for your confidence. Porcelain veneers require 2 appointments, a preparation appointment (where the teeth are reshaped for the veneers), and a fitting appointment. Our specialised lab technicians will design and create your bespoke veneers, transforming your smile and your confidence.

Fees: From £449.00/tooth or from £67.68/month (based on 6 upper teeth)

iii. Dental Crowns

Dental crowns are a more comprehensive treatment, and usually recommended for broken, worn, or damaged teeth. Where as veneers have a layer of porcelain covering the front surface of the tooth, crowns are a type of cap that covers the full tooth. This offers extra protection to the tooth underneath, but does require a larger amount of preparation work (which is why crowns are reserved for teeth which are already worn or broken). Much like veneers, crowns require two appointments, and are created by our specialised technicians who will uniquely design your new smile.

Fees: From £449.00/tooth or from £67.68/month (based on 6 upper teeth)
