Why dental implants?
Dental implants are a brilliant way of providing a permanent solution for missing teeth.
Dentures can be uncomfortable to wear and cause difficulty eating. Bridges are often damaging to adjacent teeth and can lead to more extensive dental work in the future.
Implant surgery has never been easier, with surgery often completed in around an hour with our highly skilled team of clinicians looking after you throughout; from initial enquiry to fitting of your final crown.
The process starts with an examination with Dr Essam who will be happy to answer any initial questions for you and will provide a clinical examination to assess your dental concerns. Essam qualified from Dental School in 2004 and has subsequently achieved a Master’s from Birmingham University. He has also spent some time working in Hull University Teaching Hospitals as an Oral and Maxillofacial surgeon, where he gained the MFDS from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow.
We first take a 3d digital scan at this initial appointment with Dr Essam which allows us to plan your treatment even when you are not in practice. The scan can be digitally sent to our trusted laboratories to make guides for your placement appointment.
You are then invited to book a virtual consultation.
We will outline the costs of the implant, what happens day of surgery and answer any questions you may have about the surgery itself. We will then recommend and prescribe a CBCT 3D xray which allows for measuring the available bone and precision planning of the implant placement.
Placement appointments take place on a Saturday morning giving your time to relax and rest from the surgery over the course of the weekend.
Once placed; the implant is given time to heal and integrate with your jaw bone before placing the final crown with Dr Essam, this process usually takes 12 weeks.
As with all dental treatments, implants need care and attention in order to your mouth healthy. Ordinarily this will mean tailored visits to the hygienist focussing on cleaning around the implants. With this in place you can expect your implants to last for many years.
The cost of implant surgery is dependent on each patient’s individual case but general costings can be outlined below:
£2400 for the implant and the crown broken down into £1400 for the implant placement and £1000 for the final crown.
The Clinical examination with Dr Essam is £150, if you decide to have the implant this is taken from the £1000 for the final crown
Providing dental implants throughout Brighouse, Halifax, Huddersfield and surrounding areas.
WHAT DENTAL IMPLANTS ARE AVAILABLE?
Missing teeth can often cause cosmetic and functional issues. Unfortunately if you have lost a single tooth the proposal of wearing a removable denture is not very pleasant. Even dental bridges that are fixed in place are not always ideal as you will need to rely on another tooth in the mouth to hold the false tooth in place.
A dental implant bridge is a perfect way to accommodate results where there are multiple missing teeth to provide you a fixed, permanent solution.
IMPLANT RETAINED DENTURE
If you have been suffering from loose, unstable dentures then dental implants could be the solution for you. An Implant retained Denture is held in place by a number of dental implants and can easily be removed for cleaning. Poor fitting and loose dentures can be a significant problem. An Implant Retained Denture offers a cost effective solution for replacing dentures.
