Composite Bonding

Composite bonding is not just a science but an art. The skill and dexterity of the dentist is tested highly during this procedure. Many dentists shy away from this procedure as it’s highly pressurised and meeting the expectations of the patients can be very demanding. With care being taken to ensure complete dryness throughout (or the material won’t stick) and also taking time to blend the material seamlessly into the natural tooth with perfect smooth contours.

Composite bonding is a versatile and cost-effective solution for a variety of dental issues. This procedure uses a tooth-coloured composite resin to repair chips, cracks, and gaps in the teeth. It can also be used to improve the appearance of discolored or misshapen teeth as is the choice for most cosmetic cases we do at the practice the reasons for this are many but in essence it’s cheaper, looks almost as good as a ceramic veneer can and offers a quicker result without significant damage to the natural tooth.
Composite bonding is a quick and easy process that can be completed in just one dental visit. The tooth is first lightly prepared by roughening the surface and applying a conditioning liquid. The composite resin is then applied and shaped to the desired form, and hardened using a special light.
The result is a natural-looking and durable restoration that blends with your existing teeth. With proper care and maintenance, composite bonding can last on average between 3-7 years. Some may chip/ stain before this period so a smaller price should be factored in for this. Alternatives such as ceramic veneers are more costly at £695 per tooth but offer a longer lifespan, and although they require minimal tooth preparation they are less likely to stain and chip lasting 10-15 years on average
As with most cosmetic care we let out pictures and patients do the talking. Check out the videos and before and after cases to get an idea of the quality of our work. We offer composite bonding from £190 to £295 depending on the experience of the clinician and the size of the restoration.
