I have an emergency dental problem, what can I do?
At Hewett’s Dental, we endeavor to see all patients (registered and unregistered) with a dental emergency within 24 hours or even a same-day appointment. We reserve spaces daily to make sure patients are not left in pain and can seek treatment immediately and in most cases within 24 hours.

How to treat a dental emergency at home?

This is asked so often but in all honesty it’s very difficult to alleviate dental pain without the help of a dentist. There are many different dental conditions all with different ideal treatments.

Sometimes clove oil, painkillers such as ibuprofen and paracetamol are useful but only in specific cases which only a dentist can diagnose. In other cases warm salty mouthwashes every 4 hours and extra cleaning of the area helps.

NHS 111 will be able to find out your nearest practice offering emergency care, although these services are usually quite limited.
